Overview

Empire Nissan is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Automotive Service Director to oversee our dealership's service operations. As the Automotive Service Director, this position will oversee all aspects of the service operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOUR DAY MAY LOOK LIKE:

  • Plan, direct, coordinate and supervise work activities of the Service department, ensuring all services are consistently performed in a timely manner per franchise and company policy and guidelines.
  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
  • Monitors and controls the department's performance using appropriate reports, tracking systems, and surveys and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
  • Monitors technicians' daily productivity reports, sales, and hours relative to expectations
  • Monitors and follows up on parts orders with the parts manager to ensure availability.
  • Ensures that all customers are greeted promptly and given fair estimates on costs and time required for repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance recruitment activities.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership's guidelines
  • Evaluate and hold service department team members accountable for results and quality of service by providing clear performance expectations, hands-on training and coaching.
  • Manage department budgets, payroll, and supplies, conducting regulatory audits to ensure cost containment within the yearly budget, ROI, and quality of service.
  • Foster efficiency; continuously seek to improve processes, products and services; solicit and apply team and management feedback regarding the department’s quality of service; conduct regular service surveys reviews.

Qualifications

WHAT WE WANT TO SEE:

  • 5 plus years of experience as a Service Director or similar positions in the automotive industry.
  • Direct Nissan brand experience is highly desired.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office: E-mail, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Great attitude with a high-energy personality.
  • Strong understanding of automotive service operations, including service processes, repair procedures, and dealership systems.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to deliver exceptional performance and customer service.
  • Proficiency in using dealership management software (DMS), CRM systems, and other technology tools to manage service operations and analyze performance data.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with a customer-focused mindset and a commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and best automotive service and repair practices.
  • Valid California Driver's License with a satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle driving record.
